HMF YAMAHA 450 KODIAK SPORT SERIES or HMF YAMAHA KODIAK 450 UTILITY SERIES?

Seems like a good price! what do you guy's think?

HMF really only makes what they call the utility series for the kodiak, but it's the same thing as the sport series. the only difference is what kind of quad it goes on. The price is about average, but with that seller's feedback i'd go elsewhere. I've had some bad experiences with sellers with bad feedback. sending me the wrong items, then not responding to emails and all that crap

 

I'm not sure what to buy...any better brands that stay under the $300 mark? I saw an 04' kodiak 450 today ith a HMF BIG GUN that sounded real good. Not sure cause I can't seem to find them listed for my bike. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

also a gytr yamaha pipe is listed for the 450 wolvy but not the kodiak 450 with the same engine? [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/img]

and fmf sell a pipe off rockmountainatv, but is it any good?

big gun those pipes sound great but not the best quality,everyone i know that has one said they fall apart after about 6 months.

 

Well, i think you're mistaken about the "HMF Big Gun". HMF and Big Gun are 2 seperate manufacturers. The HMF is probably the best bang for your buck out of all the exhausts out there, and it also gives you the option of a quiet core if noise becomes an issue. In my opinion, regardless of which model it is, FMF 4 stroke exhausts are overpriced and poorly designed compared to most of the competition.

The GYTR is probably only listed for the wolvy, because the wolvy was designed as a sport utility quad. GYTR knew that there would be a much bigger market for upgraded exhaust on the wolvy compared to the kodiak, being a full ute. Although it may have the same engine, that doesn't mean the dimensions will be the same for the pipe diameter, pipe mounts, etc.

I say go with the HMF.

I have the HMF QS1 Ecosystem on my 450 kodiak and I really liek it. Not too loud but lets the bike breath.
