ok so i'm doing this pole for my budy, we want to know what would be the best bike for the way we ride.
whitch is pretty hard, mostly wood trails, hills, lots of creeks and little mud. ( just what we have to hit to ride out the rest of the trails.) now he wants to buy one realy soon and need some input, what you all think?
thanks

stuff like, what one is more reliable when it comes to take'n hits, what would be faster, what problems anyone has had with them....

I am thinking that you could not go wrong with either one, it will come down to preferance. If you buddy is of a lets say larger body type he would more then likely prefer the DS for the comfort and everything that it offers in that way. If he is smaller or "average" size it may be a hard bike for him to control in the tight trails. As for taking a beating, I cannot say anything about the raptor there, but Crash20 and I have tested the DS's ability to take a whooping, and we have not hurt anything on them. Crash has injured a Banshee a couple times now with much less. Honestly I have ridden both, and for me it would be the DS again in a heart beat...

Have your buddy find a way to test ride both of them. I own a 660 raptor and a ds 650 and I don't even ride my raptor I kept it becouse it is a good bike and it fits my kids pretty good I am not a small guy and when I ride my ds I love it but after riding it and getting back on my raptor it feels small and weak compared to my ds. It is all prefrence as far as speed and power they are about the same if they have simular mods.

1 thing i like about the rappy, its a lot lighter. A lot easier to throw around and lift the front if you want 2.
When me and my friend trade bikes for awhile on the trail i enjoy ridin the rappy. The pickup is great. (EFI) I dont like the factory tire although. But when we switch back the DS is like drivin a nice comfortable couch down the trail
It quickly reminds me why i bought a BOMB

Now come on guys. I am a girl no not a little petite prissy girl but I don't have any problem throwing around that DS. I don't feel it is any harder to throw around than the Preddy. And for comfort I love the DS. But I have nothing bad to say about the Rappy either both good choices.

The thing where it gets to be tuff is when you are comparing sand to other riding conditions. Don't take me wrong Tracy I don't know if you have been riding the DS in anything other then sand? But when talking about throwing the DS around in rocks and mud it comes to a combination of skill and strength more then just weight. I don't know many weak mothers, so Tracy you get a leg up there So if your buddy is a skilled rider, and a stronger 150 he will love what the ds can do and take over the rappy....If he is a newer rider, and or a little on the weaker side in the upper body he may prefer the rappy. Either way, it still comes down to preferance....
