I am looking at spending 2000-2500 for a 416.. but i am going all the way... Steve Abbot and Johnny Hale are gonna do mine at Quad Central... I am going with the JE 12.5-1, port and flow head, 3-angle valve job, Hardin rockers, new cam,springs,39,FCR carb, heavy dudy connecting rod, tue and weld crank, hinson Clutch, ceramic coat, etc.. You should see this sweet TRX505 he is making... BAD!!

2000 for just that? man you are getting ripped off.....a 416 is a 416, .....carbs and head work is what makes the difference......a friend of a friend has a 416 from the guy im getting mine done by and he raced a 416 ct national 2000 dollar motor which was costing double his, and beat him everytime a bike....track and drags...you better use your money wisely and dont go blowing it on big name companies cause they are the ones who usually mess up esp trinity and ct, we beat the snot out of those around here....

I was talkin with Johnny Hale, and CT and Sparks, ETC make different motors for there racers than the public... So that is Y i went with central.. I am not being ripped off either I have more parts going into it than you will... Carbs arn't cheap for the 400..If you added a 39 FCR carb to your list you would be around 1500 add the conecting rod you are up to like 1700 etc

I don't have a 416 but I do have a 440.
WB R4..$220
XR250 CDI..$90
NEW rockers hardened..$285
Port job..$208
450/451 grind cam..$150?
IMS 440 11.1 Kit..$285
Renthal 16 counter sprocket..$23
Gunner Tether..$35, K&N..$42
Labor to install 440 kit and install new swing arm bearings/bushings..$200

Totals $1538.

With your carb, rod, springs and ceramic coating and anything else I might have missed...thats not a bad price.

I read in Sparks interview that you can look at in the new GNC section that he does the same for everyone. I am just curious where you heard that he does better work for the racers than for the public. I dont know about the others you mentioned, but I would think they wouldnt get by with screwing their customers like that.

GT Thunder wrote me this:

416 piston---$105.00
bore cyl------$40.00
cam(exchange)$165.00
Intake jet kit--$95.00
Gaskets---$25.00
Exhaust--$400.00
Play porting$50.00
3 angle valve job $40.00

Then like another $162 for the install and dyno testing. I have heard only good things about them also. They said it would dyno around 38-40 hp I think.
