Default Grab Bar + wheelies + concrete = not good. . . Any suggestions?

So far I have been lucky not to drag the rear grab bar on the concrete but I'd like to protect it somehow in case it should come in contact with pavement. . .any suggestions? Please don't say "take it off" or "don't ride wheelies". . . I'm hoping for suggestions on maybe something I can wrap it with (or other alternatives) that won't make my awesome unit look trashy. . .

Thanks in advance!

Maybe take some PVC pipe just a little bigger than the bar, slice it down one side so you can open it up and snap it over the back of the bar, that way if you hit the bar, it will slide or spin like a wheel, protecting the bar, and you could take it off for trail riding, so it wouldn't be permanent, or mounted with brackets, just snap it on for pavement wheelies. Of course, that won't prevent it from being bent if you bring it over hard on the bar, then you would need some type of wheelie bars on back. Or instead of PVC, maybe a piece of heater hose, lots easier to work with,or plastic tubing, that you can cut with a utility knife.

I actually made a drag bar type of thing for my friends ex.....its simply a piece of pipe cut in half that slips over the sock grab bar then i welded tabs on it so we could bolt and unbolt it to the frame...its really thick pipe and will take a very long time to wear out..if it does easily replacable.

Both great ideas. . .I may try the pvc option since I can't weld. Thanks!

could also try spraying it with the stuff they use on truck bedliners, that is supposed to be really strong
