Default ATV stored without prep for 1+ year

About 2-3 years back my grandfather bought an ATV, I rode it once and loved it, but haven't rode it since. That was about a year and a half ago, maybe two. I saw some pictures of it ina photo album over the weekend, and asked him about it, he said he hasn't used it in a year and a half.

I'm not sure the model, all I know is that it is a Kawasaki Utility style with selectable 4WD.

I would put money on saying it had no prep going into being stored.

I want to see if he will let me get it home so I can work on getting it running (I'm assuming it doesn't) and get riding it over the winter.

Worst case scenario, is it unrepairable? Or should it just be a matter of changing fluids to get it back up and running again. I'm assuming it would be similar to taking a car out of storage?

Like 4wheelerfred said, it's no big deal. I have equipment that sits for a year and then I use it for two weeks. I used to put gas treatment in the tank before I put it away. I did not have any a few years ago so it was left out. It made no difference so I never bought any since.
Smell the fuel before you try to light it off. If it smells funky dump it out before you light it.

The other think I meant to ask, is does anyone know what the model may be? I should be able to take a look at it this weekend but am curious, I really want to get on this thing.

I'm not sure the year, but if I remember right it was new (or very close to) so I would say a 2002-2003 or so
