Default Need help with my Polaris Mod.

Hello everyone,

I have a 2005 Polaris Sportsman 400 4x4...I'm wanting to put on bigger tires and possibly raise it 2"... I talked to one person that told me putting 27s would probably take a lot of power away from the 400.. He said 26ers are about as big as I want to go...Also giving it a raise would put too much stress on the CV joints.. I see all of the aftermarket mods out there and am wondering if I can do the same thing without robbing any power or putting uneccessary stress on the drivetrain. Keep in mind, I don't want to jack this thing up to the sky, I just want to give it more of a beefy stance. I would appreciate anything ya'll have to throw at me. That's right, I said ya'll, I have the luxory of being from Texas. Thanks

You can get away with a two inch lift and stock axles but your chances of breaking an axle goes up. A 400 does not have a ton of power so the stock stuff should last awhile. If you want to put 27" tires on it you may want to look into a clutch kit. It will bring back some of the (felt) power loss. Pm me if you need any help finding a lift or clutch kit.
