Stock Bore vs Big Bore vs ported head?
#1
Sitting loaded on Sinus meds and giving out candy I was just wondering if a stock bore with high compression piston say 13 to 1 or higher with a ported head and cams (any MFG ones) will put out more HP as a big bore 720-730 with 11/1 piston and a stock head not ported with cams <-same as the stock bore (any MFG cams) just an apples to oranges kind of question? Same Cam Springs?

You are right about the apples and oranges part........
If you want to race, stay with the built stockbore. If you want to play and dune, the big bore you described will be slightly better.........the very best option for both worlds would be to put that good head on the bigbore

Well ERBE i will soon be going from 11.5:1 to 14:1 and adding a Vortex CDI and stronger clutch so i will be able to see what the higher compression does on the hill.I have ran a few of the higher compression big bore DS quads and i was not too far off at 11.5:1 using a inferior clutch so i should be right in there now.I will be taking my stock bore to a dyno when i get my DS back and i will report the results.

What are you looking to do?
For Glamis which is your playground (based on your location???) you really don't need that much power unless you like shooting the hill drag racing.
For duning - I love the stroker. . . the extra torque is awesome. You'll want the head work to go along with it and the carbs, etc. So, just a few + a couple grand should get you covered!
Seriously, stay stock or bolt-on as long as possible. With a playground like Glamis in your back-yard your focus should be on riding. . . I'ld rather spend a weekend being the slowest up the hill and ride my bike into the trailer instead of pushing it in a day or two early (because it's busted!)

Air and fuel is power so the stockbore would be better then the big bore.
