700 Raptor Chain Question
#1
I am looking to buy a spare chain and don't seem to be able to understand the spec sheet on the yamaha chain.
The number is: DID 520 MXV 98LE
I know what the DID is and the 520 but having a little trouble with the MXV and 98LE
Not sure but is the 98 how many links are in the chain or is it 120 links needed for the raptor ???
I guess the MXV is how the chain is made like x o-ring
I know the front sproket is 14T & rear is 38T ( Stock Size )
Thanks for any help you can give me on this matter.

The stock chain for a Raptor 700 is 520 x 98 The 98 stands for the length. I would buy an extra master link to keep on the quad for use on the trail. If you are worried about a break the master link can save you if you break is not major.
All of the other letters in the chain description are just manufactures model and options. Just go to Rocky Mountain ATV and pick you chain from the list, like ADX-520-98.

98 LE stands for a 98 link ENDLESS chain. There is no master link on this chain. If you want the ability to take the chain off for cleaning, etc, you will have to break the chain and install a DID master link into it. I am in the process of doing this to mine. Hope this helps. Keep it rubber side down!

Thanks for the update on the chain. I just lossen the allen bolts on the read and roll the adjuster all the way forward and the chain is so lose it falls off with ease. I wanted to buy a spare chain for it and sprokets just in case. I travel to Utah every year and would hate to get out their and have something break and no spares.
Thanks again for your information

Hey Vulcan700...I go to the Paiute trail in Utah every year as well....it's the best isn't it? Can't think of anywhere I'd rather ride. There definately are some pretty remote areas. I've covered about 1000 mi. of the trail system in 10 years of riding there. I'll keep going as long as I can sling a leg over a quad! Glad you like it too.

The Paiute trail in Utah Rules for sure. I have been trying for over 4 years now to buy some land in Utah around beaver county close to marysvale. Beaver is right off of I-15 I bet you know where I am talking about. That little mountain trail going up beaver mountain it is marked as a black trail was so awsome but the wife rolled her grizzly coming down that trail thank God she was ok and the bike was also fine nothing happen to the bike if you can believe that. I am going to be back at the end of April to try the new 700 grizzly out with EPS hope she can handle the big rocks I will be riding for 3 weeks and hope to have a great time and see some people that I have talked to on the forums. I need to post more pictures on my web site of Utah as I bet people would start taking more trips out their. I know they is nothing like riding in the mountains and that is what I believe is true riding. The driver is the most important tool you have not the bikes anyway Hope to see you out on a snow covered mountain next year on the best riding trail in the world IMO
