Default 1996 Wolverine cuts out mid range

I am reposting this because I originally had it listed as a 1995 Wolverine. I am still having problems with it cutting out mid throttle. I have replaced the card with one from a 2000 model. same problems. it starts and idles fine. When you take off and get to mid throttle if just cuts out. I have cleaned the card countless times. i checked the spring in the accelerator pump. It is about 3/8" around. I have red post that say replace spring with a fountain pen spring. Mine is too bis to d that. i have changed the spark plug countless times and still have the problem. I think it must be in the wiring. I have checked the rev limiter. I took it loose and held it in with my hand still have the same problems. This is driving me crazy. Also when I shirt it to reverse I dont have to engage the reverse cable. Could this be why it is running bad? The reverse cable is seized and I havea replacement cable ordered. Will it being in reverse cause it to cut out when going forward? Someone please help????

I wonder if the Wolverine has the same E-Brake that the warrior does...If so it could be your E-Brake is not out all the way..and making it cut out...

Just make sure your E-Brake is all the way out..push the little lever all the way forward..

Update: I have changed needle positions. I have tried the 2nd notch and still cuts out. I tried the 4th notch and still cuts out.I put it back to the 3rd notch and the mixture screw is at 2 rounds out. I have tried 3 rds and 1 1/2 rounds. Nothing seems to help. I still think it is in the wiring. I checked the E-Brake and it is off. I unplugged the neutral switch and parking brake and it still cuts out. I need help????? Nothing I have done has helped. Come on guys someone has had this problem before. Please help?

I have a similar problem with my warrior. Started out making adjustment to the carb every which way with no help. Did a compression test and leak down test. Noticed my compression was down. I replaced it with a head that was in better condition but not new. Next I went to the ignition system and stator. I suggest that you test all of your ignition components with an ohmmeter. I'm still trying to figure out mine so I dont have any definite answer for you. I just have a feeling it may have to do with the ignition. Also my quad doesn't turn off. It just sputters like hell after mid throttle. The manual tells how to test. Let me know how it comes out.
