I am rebuilding a 1999 TRX250X and have purchased the Honda piston kit #06134-HM8-000. My question is which ring goes in the top groove? One has a silver coating looking edge and a "R" etched into the ring. The other is black looking with a "RN" etched into it. Which goes where?

 

the one with the tappered end goes on first!

 

Thanks for the response. By first do you mean the second groove or top piston groove? The tappered one is the silver coated with the "R" on it.
