I would like to know a bit about the yfz 450. I am looking at one and i want to know if there is any problems with them. if there is anything i should know about them?

Yfz's are great machines but what are you looking to use it for(what type of riding and terrain) because the 450r is also a great machine...and if you want reverse and can wait the new kawi 450 has reverse

 

I think the biggest thing with the yfz is they require more maintenance then most other bikes like oil changes, etc. Check out Yfz central, you will find everything you need to know about the yfz. By the way what year is the one your looking at.

 

The only reason i am looking at the yfz is because i found a 2005 for 5000cnd. The bike has been drove twice since september. It has not been drove much at all. It is in really good shape. I wouldnt really mind the maintenance. I will be doing alot of trail driving, homemade track, pits and some road driving. i dont need a yfz but its just what came up at a good price, if i can get the parents to lend me the money.

 

I think you would be better off getting a bike that you will enjoy. The YFZ is a race bike not to say you can't ride it around but I think you would be better off with a trail type bike. Raptor / 700 kawi and Honda makes some of the best bikes in the world. The 450r is a sweet bike and rides better for baja wood type riding racing. Honda just took the baja 1000 but the point is yfz is built for track racing and hard on the body. I know I have one and i like the raptor better for fun type riding. You could buy it sell it and make a few bucks to buy a new bike.

 

Hey i have a yfz 450 '06 and i love it. Very fast also its great in the trails. Mines a trail bike, it ripts them trails up. You should deff. get one there so fun to have.
