the axle nut that tightens down the rear carrier and bearing correct...there should be a ring that pushes up against the axle once you have it tight and once the axle nut is tight the ring should be right up against the groove on the axle from keeping it from coming loose

It doesn't look pretty, but if you ever get in a bind on the trail, use duct tape and wind it the opposite direction the axle normally turns. That can at least get you home if one loosens up again.

Speedy, what are you using to tighten them down? You need something tough with a good bit of leverage, I use a 24" adjustable wrench I got at harbor freight and it doesn't come loose until i want it to, and then it's a struggle usually. If you are getting a good bit of leverage on it, try tightening them down as good as you can get them, then wrapping them tightly with some electrical tape to make it impossible for them to vibrate loose.

RAP sum teflon tape around the threads make it so the nut is a lil hard to get on ive done this before on my old tri-z 250 it worked IF.. that doesnt work clean up around the nut and axle and put a lil jbweld on the side of the nut once you have it tight and in place when the time comes to remove the nut just chip the jb weld off with a screw driver..sounds stupid but it works.....
