My friends grandpa had his '96 300 4x4 at my friends house today...I got to ride it...I liked the feel of it and the power...it handled well but in snow it isn't that great, it slides around too much for a 4x4.

I had a drag race with it...my 200SX accelerated alot faster than it did on snow, but once the 300 got up to speed I couldn't catch it...the speed for it must be around 52-55MPH. I think he said it had a limited-slip differential on it...which I hear aren't good on Hondas.

sliding on a 4x4 is all to do with the rider, and the amount of sideways traction the rear tires have....(ie tractor grip tires without side **** slide quite easy)

the 200sx of mine was quicker at the topend as well......you got the park brake on?

the 300 4x4 is a fun bike.....mine was a 90 model, and i had maxxis surtraks on it.....i ran it basically std......wish i still had it!

but tell ya what, the 250sx i got fair hauls!

it has a simmilar topend speed and exceleration as my 250x....if you can find a mint '87 250sx.....they are cheap fun!

Well this 300 had the original tires on it and the treads were round instead of the square shape they are when it is new.

My 200SX wouldn't beat it at all...I had it full out...maybe it was because we raced on snow...he could have had better grip than my ATV did.

And my rear brakes don't work...can you tell me why I didn't beat him if your 200SX could beat a 300, pudding.

The throttle play is adjusted good...But my tires are low for riding in thick mud so maybe if I had pumped them up I would have won. I have the stock size too. I don't know about the gearing in it.
