Default HELP Jetmoto125

Went to change the oil in my sons new jm 125 and didnt look close enough to were it went in.Put the oil in the screw cap above the shifter.Not sure what this is for but the oil ran out the bottom.Did i do any harm.Is this just a cover plate?.What should i do now.Need some help.Thanks

Im not sure off the top of my head setters and that quad is at my shop at the moment. Ill take a look tomorrow on my way home from work and let you know. I would asume it was a cover plate too. The oil goes on the right side of the engine in the back.
