Default TB replacement tires

my gf has an 01 Trail Blazer. it has the stock tires which handle the trails and mud good. The back ones have about 50% or the tread left, while the fronts are at 80-90%. i assume the people that owned it b4 me blew a lot of doughnuts with it. Anyways, the rear tires do not go good in the snow at all. i was wondering if it went so crappy in the snow because its 2 wheel drive and because it weighs so much. my 400ex goes much better in the snow. i realize the EX revs stronger and faster, but it just gets better traction. Back on the TB for a second, are the stock polaris tires good in the snow when brand new? or should i but an aftermarket rear tire? if so what tire?? we do ride rocks, a little mud, a little sand, open dirt roads, and snow.

Goodyear Wangler sports are a good all around tire for cheep. If you have a higher budget you could get ITP mudlite AT. The stock tires suck on the TB.

Our Trailblazers do not have a ton of power to begin with so you may want to check out the weight on some of the aggresive tread tires. The stock carlisles weigh around 15lbs. I just put on a set of stock size 22x11x10 Maxxis Razr2's on the rear and they look great and work great too. They weight about 16lbs.

Thanks for the input people, and i know the TB doesnt have much power. So i definately wouldnt put any type of mud tire on that ATV. i would love to put some 20's RAZrs or hole shots on it. i dont know how well those tires would do in the snow. but, i guess i could invest in some tire chains.... i hate to. thanks anyways. oh yea, the snow is melting in VT this week since its 40' outside.

Another tire brand to look at is Swamp Fox. I put the stock tire up front and Swamp Fox's on the back. They have been a good tire so far.
