Anyone regret having to run race gas?

Besides the obvious higher price does anybody regret having to lug cans around everywhere you go?
I currently have my head off of my DS to have ported, and figured now is as good a time as any if I wanted to swap out my gaskets and go to 14:1.

No regrets more power needs better fuel, being I need only around 10 15 gals per trip (3 day weekend)
Third of my Quads run on 110 fuel its just nature of the beast, I broke down and bought a 20 gal fuel cell to store it, I just pick up 5 to 10 gal when needed and keep it filled when a trip is coming.
I like to be able to despence fuel for the 2 strokes, when 50/50 mix or straight race mix is needed and withthe DS650 just pump it from the cell
I attached a folding Dolly to my cell for ease of transport.

no regrets here either, i bring 2 5 gal cans & mix to 50/50 out of the trailer gas tank. 10 gal of race gas lasts for a 3 day trip with no probs. the added hp & no pinging is worth the minor trouble of the can storage issue. i buy mine by the 55 gal barrel so cost is a lot lower than buying at a bike shop.

No regrets here either. I can run a mix, so it is not so bad. We have a station that carries 110 octane just down the road from Winchester Bay for a decent price. So we don't lug any more cans then we usually do...

i do but thats only because i live in the stix and the nearest place that sells it is 48 miles from here. i will be going back down on compression, but if it wasnt for having to drive so far i would keep the 14:1 no matter the cost of fuel.

I am running aviation fuel in mine it only cost $2.00 a gallon but I am not running my compression as high as you guys are.

1)Why do you need high octane gas for high compression?
2)How high compression can you go on 87 octane (bronze/regular fuel) b4 it starts acting up?

I dont regret it.I usually carry gas cans with me anyways on a riding trip.I cant tell that I use anymore gas with high octane but I have run alcohol before and when you do that you better take an extra jug.

crazy1291 I think you have to run high octane with high compression because high octane is more stable meaning it will not pre-ignite when put under the strain of higher compression.lower octane fuel may pre-ignite meaning it may explode before your piston is at its highest compression.so then you have your gas igniting before your piston is at its full compression which doesnt help your high compression piston perform at its best potential. As for how much compression before running high octane,I dont know.I'm not an expert on this so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
