Ok i made the wife mad and bought a 06 500auto.
my first belt atv.
so what do i need to know about this? any problems? can i put my warn 3.0ci on it.? how about the warn plow?

seems to run good i upgraded form a rancher AT. loved that bike.
so thoughts please?
ideas?
i mostly trail ride in ROCKY *** ROADS. so the IRS shoudl be a nice upgrade.
i've read something about the breaks being broken in in a certin way.? please explain more on this is it a must?

one more thing.. i've tryed locin the front dif in to "lock" but i odn't think it's locking in. the display never says "lock" and stearing is easy?
know of any adjustments to the lever? thanks
again
i think i'm gonna like my kitty kitty. :-)

Congrats on your Cat. The break for your brakes is very simple, take a look at your manual (can't recall off the top of my head).
Don't tell me your plowing snow in Arizona? If your 500 is an LE then the winch will mount right to your front brushguard.
Have fun!

LOL yes i'm plowing snow in AZ. 90% of the US think its only desert here, but i live in Flagstaff and it's 7000 ft elavation. we usualy get a lot of snow. this year is a little light. we even have a world renound ski area. the Arizona snow bowl. you should get Google Earth and take a look in my area.

You should have the 4x4 on when turning on the difflock. Start moving, and turn the wheel one way and the other, it will lock in right away.

HR The manual say's the brake's must be Burnished to Acheive Full Breaking Power , the prociedure is as follow's Choose an area sufficently large to safely accelerate ATV to 30 mph and to a stop. Accelerate to 30 mph; then compress brake lever to decelerate to 0 - 5 mph . Repeat procedure 5 times until brake's are burnished ! This will make the brake's hold better and last longer ! These are the instruction's word for word directly from my manual , so this should do the job. I bought a 2006 Arctic Cat 400 Auto fis feb. 07 2006 , it is the first ATV i have ever owned with the belt drive ; and i love it i didn't think i would ever own a quad with a belt until i got mine also ! Hope you enjoy your Cat as much as i do mine ; and welcome to the Arctic Cat forums.............williebee !

ok so i have noticed a reflector missing, one of the stickers on the front left fender, and it will not lock into diff lock.
i asked th dealer about it and they told me to "bring it in" so i have to load it up and take it 35 miles. oh well. it'll be fixed the right way i guess.
seems to ride stifer that i would think an IRS would. i turned the spring to the softest setting and its still ALOT stiffer then my pops Kodiak with IRS. maybe the nature of the beast.
but i have to say i love the low range. :-) and i can even jump it. not that i'm going to very often but here in the mountians we have drainage burms on some of the back roads and if your doin over like 15 you catch air. the honda rancher i had wasn't fun over these. :-(
we'll see how this does.
thank you so much for the info.

what/where is a good spot to but my cilanoid <~?sp for my warn winch. and what wire can i tap into for the switch? i have directions for my rancher but not the cat.

happy trails.

There is a special accessory plug, just for that purpose in the front end that will plug right into the winch. Ask the dealer to point it out to you when you bring it in.

Your diff lock needs a simple adjustment from the cable, it happens to many Arctic Cats.

Your winch will bolt right on up, like v2 said there is a prong to plug your winch into, and the rocker switch can go right by the left thumb
