Quick silver 2 edlebrock adjusments???
#1
i recently purchased the quicksilver2 edlebrock carb for my 400 and im having trouble with it. when i first fire it up it runs great but after it gets good and warm, and you lay into the throttle it cuts out hard then screams like it should, i thought it could be that it was getting to much gas but i checked the spark plug and its burnin good. and it runs good as long as you dont lay into it all at once. My question is what is wrong and how do i fix it, i dont know how to adjust these carbs so any help is good.

I had an Edelbrock on my 400 years ago. Never could tune it correctly! I live near the Edelbrock factory where they make them, and I even took it over there and their in house guys couldn't tune it either.........
It always had a little bog off the bottom! It would absolutely scream at open throtle, and if all I did was ride open desert, I migh have been able to live with it. But, the 400 is a trail quad and I was also into freestyle jumping at the time. It bogged once on a jump takeoff, and I came up short on a big double.........took it off the next day and got rid of it!!!!!!

The engine wouldn't die completely, it would just "stumble". Really anoying when you are riding slow on a technical trail, and fatal if you are on a jump takeoff ramp!

Even Edelbrock couldn't fix it!
I didn't just take the carb to Edelbrock, I took the quad over and they rode it around and messed with it, but it wouldn't ever go away. Probably you learned an expensive lesson that you could have spared yourself if you had just searched my old posts............
