bcquads, many hardware stores carry aluminum(or should I say aluMINium?")
polish. If no luck there, Chaparral, 800-841-2960 carries a product called "Never-Dull" that consists of chemically-impregnated cotton wadding that's supposed to work well on chrome, aluminum, or brass.It's $3.99 per can.You can do mine for the tip

I use jewlers rouge and a 4-6" pad on my drill. But if there are pits in the rim (from sandblasting them) I would sand them with 1500-2000 grit sand paper first. Its amazing what that stuff will do. Try jewlers rouge on your shifter, rear break, lots of stuff. It takes a while to get the paint off and polish but I love my cheap polished foot pegs
