Default went and saw the new rancher 420....my thoughts

today i went and saw the new rancher 420. I thought it was a really nice looking atv and if i were looking into getting a 450 class atv, The rancher would be my choice. There were very nice features i liked.

What i liked:
new body style(except the bumper)
stock tires are better then old ranchers
disk brakes
Loved the fuel injection
new shocks seemed much softer then old rancher(will be much smoother ride)
good protection underneath
i hear the power is much better
selectable 2wd/4wd
yay, honda make the rancher hardly any more expensive then last years model. Cheap fun

What i didnt like:
Not many things i can say bad about the atv but...

Honda i have knowticed has horrible a-arm guards with the bottoms of the a-arm left empty
ummmm...
thinking....
oh ya... why do they have the 2wd/4wd as a lever not the button like usual.

since the motor is totally covord, there seemed to be more space left open next to the front wheels in my opinion, Personally i would think that should be coverd more to keep all the mud and dirt from just being hidden by the engine were its not noticeable and getting stuff all coverd. Maybe not a big deal i guess.

Overall, the new is awsome. I would really love to own one because the rancher went from a solid atv for all-around use to being a awsome atv for anyone to use. Great move honda. I really liked how they kept the price just 200 dollers more then last years model with so many new features that are so nice. Way to go. Now they need to update the rest of the models with efi. But doesn't sound like you rode it, even around the parking lot???? (Nobody in this state lets you test drive.)

Saw my first one today. I think it is rather ugly, and looks to much like the equally ugly Eiger. First thing I would (will) do is replace the rims and tires with some Holeshot ATR's on some nice lighter ITP wheels.

And it gained to much weight.

here in ohio it verys dealer from dealer, now saying that i went down to the honda shop to get my 6$ oil filter, and to make a long story short these 420 kick the 350 @ss as far as throttle response and initial power!! i like the looks personally, aspecially the camo. wont be getting one any time soon, due to the fact i just put a bbk on my rancher! if i were in the market for a new one this is a good start!!

My thoughts? Nice machine but looks like Honda added features while taking a step back in some areas. Single tailight now with an exposed rear axle along with moving the rear brake inward.

I'll keep my 05 for now and will move up to a larger size atv in the future.....meaning 500cc or larger.
