Clicking when I turn
#1
I searched the forum and most signs of clicking, point to bad CV joints. I check the joints and they seem to have very little play (grabing the shaft and shaking while rotating the wheels). On a lift, I have slight movement out of the joints on either side. Is it normal to hear some clicking during a turn. Seems to be the left rear when I turn left on any surface.
thanks

I have the same exact thing, at slow speed, and it sounds almost like a *** on my tire is hitting something, but its not. Any help would be appreciated! Mine isnt really a "click". Its like i described

thanks Bear. I guess if I tear it apart to look at them I might as well replace the joints. Right? Thing is, for my model, it looks like I have to replace the entire shaft, as the joints don't seem to be availab;e seperately.
When looking at the joints, do I simply look for the worn needle bearings in the u-joint itself?
thanks again

I'll have to try to find a picture of these so I understand what I'm working with before I start.
Thanks again. You're a wealth of information!
One more question, Is it necesary to have a tool for those bands on the cv boots? Is there a trick to tightening without a tool?

No you don't need a special tool. No trick, common sense. You can use long tie-straps instead of the stock clamps too.
