400ex and a good suspension..worth it?
#1
Im going to be buying a 400ex and im gonna put a new suspension on it. Im far from being a pro, and im wondering if any non pros put an MX suspension on their quads, and was it worth it. Just watching the videos of these quads with exteneded A-arms seem like jumping is a breeze. Really comfy looking. I know jumping with the stock suspension is ok, but never road a bike with the MX setup.
Id like to get some feedback on this.

I have a 2002 440EX and I put an Elka Suspension front and rear. Along with Lonestar +2 A-Arms in the front and A Dura Blue +2 in the rear it was the best thing I've done to my 400. You can Sky with that suspension and when you land it's like a cloud. The first time I caught huge air I landed and thought it was going to hurt but When I hit it was smooth as could be. Well worth it I say. It will cost quite a bit though. With the exact set up I have suspension, Axle, A-Arms, X-tended brake lines will run you about $3500-$4000.

i have a 99 400 ex and i have the mx suspension setup on it. i love it. i also do a lot of trail riding and the extended arms arent really that big of a deal. they actually make it easier to straddle and hangon to high ruts. it is very smooth. i also like to hit the mx tracks just because i like to jump. its is extremely comfortable big air. i think u would be happy with it either way. i like it alot.
