Default Anyone know if these "Universal Foot Rests" are any good?

Tamarack accesories lists a set of ATV foot rests and I'm wondering if they are better than those kind that clamp on a fender bar.

They say they universally hard-mount to most ATV floor boards and the pics are all of Polaris mounts. Has anyone had any experience with these foot rests? I need something to keep my ol' lady on the back of my 500 Sportsman (vintage 2001)... thanks!

They look good. I've seen a guy put treated 4X4's in the same place. Very adjustable and lower cost.

Humm.. yeah.. it wouldn't be too hard to make up a block to fit in there. I thought these might be better than the standard bolt-to-rail footpegs. Maybe I can rig something up with wood or some angle iron/welding. It doesn't look like many folks are using these Tamarack universals anyway...
