I have finally decided to jump in here. I just bought the 2007 SP 500 EFI Deluxe blue/blk. So far I have almost 50 miles on it, nothing crazy. I had an 2004.5 SP 500 camo before this one. I'm hoping they have all the EFI problems worked out by now. The new one is pretty comparable. Actually I'm not noticing any difference in performance. Right now, maybe even the 2004.5 had more top end. I'm not sure if the computer holds it back a little at first? We'll see?? Really like the turn the key and go!! If anyone has any great rides or places in WI they've been going let me know.

 

My wife is from Fall Creek just sout east of Eau Clarie. We now live in MN but ride the quad county/Clark county trails 2x a summer and sometimes winters. We usually trail head by Neilsville on Hwy 10 but the last two summers we unloaded at Fairchild and Aguata as its closer to her parent's house. We also unlaoded at Black River Falls which is part of the same trail system.

Lots of fun in WI

Good trails, well marked, easy on/off trails for food and gas.

In 2005 polaris changed the gearing on the sportsmans to help with the larger 26" pxt tires. So, the earleir models did have more topend and topspeed. This is the diff you're feeling from your 04.5 and your new 07.
