Default loose axle nuts

sorry about that blank post...
anyways, i am having problems keeping my axle nuts tight while riding, when we stop for a break, sometimes they are hand loose! i tighten them with a pipe wrench that i stand on when tightening, so i know initially they are VERY tight. anyone with the warrior have this problem, should i use threadlock or get a nut with a set screw (raptor?) thanks for the help.
Luke

Ya maybe install a new nut, but I think the threads on the axle wear out over time from vibration and make the nut sit loose when it should be fairly snug. You can try threadlocker but use the blue stuff, it wont be permanant and wont hurt the threads.

i went riding today and rode it hard and the nuts stayed put. i really stood on the wrench this time, but i think i will get the blue stuff and it should be ok. does anyone know if the raptor axle nut with the set screw will even fit the warrior?

dont use the blue loctite, use the red loctite and you could do what desert racers do, tape the nuts with ducttape.

uuuuuuummmmm No use the blue. If you use the red, it is a permanent fix and you will not be able to service the axle when it comes time. The blue is serviceable. We used to use the red stuff on bolts in the limestone plants and you had to cut the bolts with a torch when it came time to work on something. That stuff is really strong.

He's talking about the big axle nuts near the middle, not the hubs.

Red loctite is usable and breakable. The red is about twice as strong as the blue therefore you can use 1/2 as much and get the same result. Its the green stuff thats wicked. It accually holds better than a weld :-o I went to the loc-tite factory back in the paintball days and they explained it all to me. Even if you use to much red loc-tite a little heat breaks down the chemical compound.
