Blaster problems
#1
My friends picked up a 91 blaster with an 03 motor and plastic. it also has a procircuit platinum pipe, aftermarket reeds, K&N and a Kehin carbuerator for 850$. Im not sure of the size or type of carb, but this machine gets easily beaten by a Rancher. it has very little bottom end and the 2 stroke powerband is virtually non exsistent.
the dealer who sold it to them said that it was jetted for "warmer weather" above 50. We adjusted the needle and it helped, but i was wondering what could fully correct this and make it usable all year round. Thank you

Go to the procircuit website and see if you can find jettnig reccomendations. Its a possibility that he never re-jetted it at all which would explain all of your problems. I would also do a spark plug chop test. See what your jetting is like.
What mix oil are you running?
Mix ratio?
Done a compression test?
Tires bald?
Gearing?
Weight of the riders whould have a great part in who wins. You gotta remember a blaster is for smaller people.

this blaster has a 34mm kehin carb reeds etc. and its 32 to 1 gas and has compression and a new spark plug it hardly goes over 17 mph and doesnt have enough power to get the wheels spinning so i think ill get a jet kit and do some plug tests.
