Default A question on a Sportsman 400, 1999 model.

Is a 1999 Polaris Sportsman 400 a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke?
My dad has one and adds oil in a oil tank all the time and he was wondering where the oil is going.
Any replies are very welcome

if it has an oil tank on the front of the bike below the handlebars than it is a two stroke 400 engine.the oil goes from this tank down a oil tube to the oil injecterpump.

Yup, the filler tube is just below the handel bars, pointing to the front, so it is very easy to see, so my dad said.
I told him I knew nothing about the bike, so I would ask the question here
Thank you for the info.
