660r can it be built for the track?
#1
I have a 2005 660. I have been recently going to the local tracks, and well its a little tipsy on the corners. Would it be worth it to get race a arms from roll design or laeger, or to sell it and get a 450 or something like that? Also what is the difference between race arms and long travel arms which would be better for the track?
Thanks,
Thomas

Yes it is possible to make one competitive on the track. The best thing you can do is widen it. The difference in long travel vrs race is mainly the distance of travel (who would have thought that). I would only reccomend long travel suspension for guys over 200lbs or desert racers. Thats what ive been told and I forget how the guy explained it but he definitely knew what he was talking about.
If you are going to get into mostly MX and plan on sticking with it you would be much better off with a 450. Simply because even if you do widen the 660 a 450 thats as wide as you will still be better off. Im not saying you cant hang with a 660 but if you are gunna get serious about it a 450 is the way to go.

I agree, for the money you will have to put into the raptor to make it competitive you could just about buy a 450.....trust me....it takes lots of $$$$$$$......the 450s are better suited for the track right out of the box...
