Does anyone have one of these? Did anyone have one on another bike? How do they perform against a pro-flow kit?

Just called Sparks Racing sounds a bit costly for an airbox and filter $275 but im sure it works great!

I talked with someone at Sparks the night before last and he told me they made only one airbox and put it on the Baja Raptor.

As of yet, Wes Miller, apparently one of the drivers, had yet to return it. It will be quite awile before they will be out.

I just called them, I am on the list for the pipe and will be getting mine in the 3rd batch the end of this month (not holding my breath since it should be out already)

They said that they have to get the ones from the baja back to make them and that they have someone else who may make them from carbon fiber. I would rather have aluminum. Starting to wonder just how long they'll be!! Everyone on their pipe list will be offered an airbox first...

What is the advantage of the Sparks Airbox over the stock airbox if you just remove the lid of the stock airbox?

Is it because you can't mount an aftermarket air cleaner in the stock airbox?

I think that that price quoted above($275) is outrageous and not worth it.

I am making my own filter adapter for a K&N filter to use in the dunes. I am not planning to use an airbox since I am not concerned about water intrusion. I am going to use a single filter that covers both intakes with a 6" inlet. There should be no problem with airflow here.

That is extremely high. It would be cheaper to lay out the plans for one, have someone with an aluminum brake cut and bend it and have it welded up.

My guess is that the Sparks one allows you to use a bigger filter so that you have more surface area which would mean more airflow. You could put a big aftermarket filter in the stock box, but if it fills the box up, then there isn't much airflow happening on the bottom side of the filter.

I think I migh take some plans to The Metal shop at my school or vo-tech. They'll probaly do it for cheap because it's a learning experience for the kids. Maybe even just for the cost of materials. Gonna have to check it out.
