1987 Foreman 350 4x4 No Spark!
#1
I've been trying to get my Foreman running, I bought it with the knowledge of it having no spark. I have since bought a new cdi and plug and am still not getting any spark! I tested a few wires leading into the CDI with a voltmeter, Some wires did nothing and some I got between 7 and 9 volts. When I kick it over, the fuel gauge lights up and the "OIL TEMP" lights up, but no spark!
I'm losing my mind!

OK, I get power to the CDI, but not to the coil. I tested the wires going into the coil and got nothing. So there is something wrong between the CDI and the coil. There are two wires coming out of another box that go into the coil, could that little box be the problem?

The starter motor burned up, it doesn't work anymore. What is that little box called that controls the voltage? Just to make sure we are on the same page, the little box i'm talking about is mounted on the front of the frame on the opposite side of the CDI box.

CDI in on the front of frame on the left side(when sitting on machine). rectifier is on opposite side under the rear fender mounted on the frame. On the same side as the rectifier there should be a box that as all the connections! here is a diagram of the wiring for your machine! Look under the wiring harness section!

The part I was talking about is #28, but it says it's the Cooling fan control unit, but on my quad it has about 6 wires going into it and two coming out the go to the coil.
