just bought it yesterday and i was wondering what kind of tires i should go with. I will be doing tons of mudding and some trails. i also would like to know what size. I would like to go bigger for some extra ground clearance but i don't want to lose alot of power. Im a big guy so theirs already extra weight on the machine, and if i do decide to go with a bigger tire what should i do to regain some of the lost power

i agree with the 26's mud lites, i noticed a little power loss but i'm glad i did not go with 27's, i think there may be to much of a loss going with 27's. i noticed it just going to 26's but not to bad, and i'm im not sure yet about performance for the 700 but i'm looking to find something and will let you know if i fined anything to up the power.

 

im going to buy some 27's no smaller should i get a clutch kit?? itp xtr's are what im getting and should i get the same size all the way around???

 

if your going with 27's or bigger you'll probably should see how the tires run on your machine and then decide whether or not the clutch kit is needed. my opion is that your probaly going to want a clutch kit as well.

 

I have 27" mudlite XL on mine and you can tell some power loss, but the power loss is minimal. It will still bring the front up in low with no problem.
I am thinking about putting a clutch kit in it though. My riding is about 80% mud and 20% trail.

 

Congrats on the new machine. I recieved mine bout 3 weeks back and absolutely love it. I have stock tires on it, and they suck, as you may have noticed. I'm thinking of the mudlites in 26" for it. I have a `05 660 with 27" 589s and love them, they will go through anything I have been challenged with so far, they kick **** in snow/mud. I felt some, albeit minimal, power lose with the 27" tires. I did not feel a need to modify the clutch, it had plenty of power to spare. I could still get the front off the ground if I wanted to.
