Default HELP: Motor Idles but won't accelerate?

Hello,

I have a 2000 Honda Rancher TRX350. Was running fine, now it just idles...
When I give it gas it just stalls & wants to stop running. When I pull choke, it revs up ok, but when choke is not pulled
& I rev it up - motor stalls & wants to die.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks,

Max

I'm pretty sure he means for you to take off the carb, turn it upside down, take the bowl that holds your fuel off the carb. When you get the bowl off there should be a main jet and pilot jet(jets are small objects that has very small holes in them that your fuel is sucked through),These jets should screw out.Take them out and see if they are clogged. If so then unclog them.Good luck.

I took off the air cleaner & sprayed carb cleaner inside the carb, also took of 4 screews that held in a rubber diaphram & plastic peice that held a metal rod & sprayed carb cleaner there. Put back together & she started accelarting again.

Rode for about 1/2 hour without any problems....

I am not sure if that fixed it or not?
If not, I will take carb off & clean the jets like you suggested above.

Thanks Again!

Max

The handling you did, must have dislodged the obstruction. But because you didnt remove the float bowl and clean inside of it, the chunk of crud is still in there, waiting to plug it again. You can either do it now, or hope it doesnt decide to replug, at an inconvienent time, like on a steep hill, or deep puddle. Id clean it out now.
