Need a new bigbore
#1
Hey guys, I have a 06 big Bear 400 with a FMF Megamax, 120 main jet and a 2inch hole drillled in my airbox. this thing has only 50 miles on it. I added the mods myself because how much of a dog this thing is. I also have a 03 Ozark 250 that I got for my wife but my buddies ride it. Yesterday where where riding around in the snow and I could do all kinds of cookies and break the back end lose in the sand on the Ozark ect. I can pop wheelies on the ozark and not on the Big Bear. The Bear is just geared way to low. The Big Bear definately has more power for climbing hills and goop but it is no power horse. We where on a street and the speedo in the Bear said 46 mph and the engine sounded like it was ready to blow, and the Ozark was maybe 6 quad lengths ahead of me, and slowly growing, over a mile or so race. Now I think post like how fast is this and how fast is that, 70mph on a quad means crap to me. But I do love white knuckle exceleration and breaking the tire lose and roll on wheelies. Im a big dude and I ride mostly trails and steep hills. I also like a good suspension because of my size. I was thinking of a Brute Force 650 (I hear it is quicker and sportier than the 750) and the King Quad 700. Any suggestions? Price will be a factor for my purchase and that rules out the Outkander 800. Basically Im looking for a quad that has enough ooomph to keep me happy, (the Big bear is decent in the woods but when it opens up it lacks *****). Any suggestions? What are the most potent big bores? Not including the BF750 and Outty 800? Like I said going 60+ doenst mean shibby to me but roll on power and roosting the guys behind me sure means a hell of a lot

i heard a guy tell me that his suzuki 700 was a dog. my 2 buddys have the brute force,1 has the 650 and the other the 750. if price was an issue then go w/ the bf 650, has plenty of power and wheelies pretty good as well. faily snappy.

Do any and all Ute's over 600cc spin the back tires pop wheelies etc? I just want peoples opions of the "muscle car of utes" everything i read on the web says the BF650 and outty 800. Im not brand loyal. I have owned Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, KTM, and Harley, mostly dirt bikes and street bikes. Man, I miss the punch of a modified 250cc 2 stroke, but due to my knees I need to ride a quad, and the sports wont take me where i want to go.

Well the brute 650i is pretty awsome...... I am a big guy 6'2" and 255. This quad gets me around with no problem at all. It is fast and snappy from the factory. It is probally the biggest as far as size out there you can buy. I really like that cause I feel funny on other quads that are smaller kinda like a big kid on a toddlers bike. I dont think you can go wrong with the brute and the price is not bad compaired to other brands. Let us know what you get.

if price is a big issue then stay around the 650 cc area. as far as drag racing goes its a utlitiy machine that are mostly 4x4 and will not handle like a sport quad so beside doing little wheelies i would try to drive it like a dirt bike lol.

i can do wheelies on deman with my 650 arctic cat v-twin which has the same motor as the 650 kawi bf. great motor low vibration and snappy power on bottom end. i love the supsension of the cat with the 12+ inches of ground clearence and diff lock i can go through alot of gunk where other ppl just get hung up.
