i need some help from somebody... which slot is the c-clip supposed to go on for the carburator needle

 

I would put it in the middle...FIRST...Then go from there .....Too rich.....WET plugs,or lots of build-up move it up........If it is to clean...Move it down...You should be able to tell just how it will stand and sound idling....Caper............

 

In cold weather I have to lower the clip down a notch or two (richer) to keep
the motor from pinging. In the warm weather I can put it in the middle.
But this depends on how your motor has been set-up (mods etc.)
watch your plug for color & listen to the motor when riding it. Always
start on the rich side then start to back er down.

 

Do you guys know where the three vent tubes hook up to on this carb? I have one that I rebuilt and it was not together when I got it. That is the last thing I need to do to get it up and running.

 

dont forget even when you lower lower your clip if your riding in cold weather you will want to rejet. i cant remeber where my vent tubes went onmy old t. blazer but i do remeber that one of them had a one may check valve on it that just went nowhere.

 

Thanks. I thought it went to pretty much nothing but have to be sure. I know the spud from the choke gets teed with the over flow from the feul bowl but I have know Idea where the other one goes to. Maybe someelse can help to

ok, the vent tube that is on top of the carb body on the right side & points
to the right side paralell to the ground, goes up to a small hole in the top of
the left upper frame. u will find this hole just behind the larger vent line that
comes up from the trans. hope this helps!!!

 

thanks guys I put that line just up by the intake snorkel but will move it. I fired up the quad today and it runs great. Lots of great riding with the frozen ground. all the trails are smooth with no mud or water to clean off the quads! That is the only thing that is good about winter.

whats up..im having alot of trouble with my 1999 trailboss 250..it wont start at all..cleaned the carb. cleaned the feul lines, cleaned the oil lines..changed the spark plug, got starter fluid..cant get it started..i know that all my vent/vac lines are completely messed up. can anyone help me out with getting my vent lines back in order..and also, do you think the vent/vac lines are the problem..please help me out..its snowing right now and were getting 5-7' over night

 

i was having a similar problem. my 95 trailboss wouldnt start and my vent tubes are still messed up... i bout a new carb and im lookin for the vent tubes in the manual i have so if i find it ill let you kno. but i would check the coil for spark first and make sure your getting gas and that the carburator isnt flooding b/c of a choke sticking
