Default EFI run dry. should I worry?

Yes, I'm ashamed I forgot to turn on the fuel line on my rancher 420 today. It made it about a mile before it died. It wont happed again but I was wondering if this can have any effect on my motor or injectors. The bike only has 20 miles on it.

I did the same thing, and I was wondering the same thing!!!! I made it a surprisingly long ways before it died. I was just about to launch it up a huge very steep hill, where if it died things would have gotten quite precarious. Luckily it died right at the bottom.

I too have been wondering if I did any damage by having the fuel pump run dry..........

Not if you only do it once or twice. On a regular basis you would eventually burn up the fuel pump(that's when you run the tank dry). You could damage the fuel injector over time of running it dry to often!

yeah, fuel pump will spin to fast if run dry- injectors really dont mind much.
i see this is a throttle body EFI and not true direct fuel injection, so pretty harmless

Looks to me like there would be a pressure regulator in the fuel system so that if the fuel supply were to be cut off or fuel delivery to the system decreased, the fuel pump would be shut down.

I take it the fuel pump is not in the tank?
