Some of my riding buddies have been telling me of of some riders getting over 16000 miles on a ATV without any major problems.

Is this possible or is wise to trade in every several years?

If I had a odometer on my 1987 Honda 350 4x4 I bet it would say 100,000 or more miles never been to the shop.Use it everyday for my constrution company and farm.In fact I was told by my dealer that has been is business for 50 years that they have never had to work on a 1986 to 1988 350 4x4 except to change oil and filters wow.They ride like a tank and are slow compared to the new ones thou.

 

I don't know how many miles my 1987 Honda 250 Fourtrax has on it, but I'm sure its pretty far up there. Haven't had any mechanical problems since I've had it (5 or 6) years. Doesn't smoke or make any unusual noises. Just keeps on going.

 

I finally got rid of the daughter's 91 Kawasaki 300 Bayou with 5500 miles. I saw another 91 Bayou with 13,000 miles on the odometer, used by a farmer who irragated with it.

I think people just want to update their equipment more so than they wear out? JMO

 

1993 fourtrax 300, 5 digits on the engine, no problems yet.

my friend has over 25,000km's on his 99' kodiak

 

20,000 mile on my 98 Sportsman when the speedo quit two years ago.
