I just got home from picking up my new Blue Raptor today. Mine wasn't due to be in until sometime in Feb. My dealer called and said that he had a Raptor down there and I said "well you are a Yamaha dealership, so that stands to reason". He tells me "no you don't understand, YOUR Raptor is here, gassed up, and ready to roll". Talk about a nice surprise!
Apparently, there were several guys ahead of me but they were holding out for white.
I haven't been able to really ride it much yet (will tomorrow) but so far I am damned impressed. I have always been a 2 stroke fan, but I gotta tell you I have NEVER been on a 4-stroke like this one. The throttle response is immediate and the thing pulls hard all the way to the top end. I have yet to even get it out of 3rd gear and I know I had to be doing 50 mph down my road.
Damn life is good!

DuneJammer, Congrats on the blue raptor I bought the blue one to I think it looks alot better better that personal preferance. I would gear that thing down an then you'll be even more inpressed I run an 11 on the front but I ride tight woods so if you ride dunes try a 12 tooth. Later and have fun.

 

Thanks for the tips xtreme165 I also think the blue looks much better. It was my choice from the beginning so I didn't just "settle" for the blue. The dealership had the white sitting right next to the blue and for me it was no contest. I am amazed at how perfectly this bike fits me, everything feels like it is right where it should be. I think I am in love!
