2001 AC 300 4x4 Can it be snorkled??
#1
I have been messing around with a snorkle. But it seems that I does not get enough air.I just can't belive that using 2" pvc does not provide it with the air it needs without having to rejet the carb?I have used 6 feet of pvc and 2 -90 degrees elbows and even went to 2-12"pvc pipe and 2-90's and it still acted like it needed more. Any ideas out there..I thought of tryin 3" pvc. I see quads with 500,650,700 motors using 2"pvc what is the deal.

where are you running the snorkel to? And how do you know its not getting enough air? Its more than likley getting too much. Put a 1 1/2" reducer on the end of it, and see what that does. The 650V2, and H1 are carbed, so a 2" snorkel will more than likley need a rejet. I added Dial-A-Jets to mine. Like i set, 1 1/2 inch reducer, and try it again

You hit it on the head. I had everything dialed in and it was sucking too much air. Now everything is good. But now I'm looking at the exhaust. Is it essential to snorkel that also? I have taken care of the air box and all the breathers for the crankcase and the duckbill, etc. Any suggestions on what to use to snorkel the exhaust would be appreciated.

Fot tail pipe exaust, ive seen only one persons setup. It was a U pipe coming off the end, then straight pipe up. Most people dont snorkel the exaust, as you wont get water in it if it is running.

If it dies while submerged, it will let water into the engine via the exhaust. DO NOT TRY TO START IT!!!! You will have to get pulled out and stand it on its a$$ to let the water drain out of the exhaust. Then you should be fine. If you try to start while it is submerged, you could hydo-lock it and do major damage.
