Sway Bar On Hawkeye
#1
I was just woundering if it is safe to take the sway bar off because the suspension is way to stiff for my 120lb son and is there a way that you can have a pin or somthing to make it easy to put the sway bar on and off?

I took it off of the two we have in an attempt to get it to ride smoother. The sway bar only takes effect when one wheel moves independent of the other. With a 120 pound rider, I doubt the rear suspension would give at all. So I think you would be safe removing it.
Hawkeyes ride rougher than tanks. I hear that tanks actually have suspensions. The thing I can't figure out is why Polaris put an independent rear suspension on the bike only to put springs on that are so stiff that it never gives! Should have saved money and built a sold rear end and painted on the rear suspension!

Sled boy is right but when the atv goes into a corner without the sway bar it will make it lean opposite of the direction of what he is turning. I dont think it is a good idea, yes it may make it ride better going straight but like i said in the corner he probably wont like the leaning( make him feel like he is riding a boat)

Don't take it off if it will be ridden at high speeds. As far as quick detach, there is a guy who sells stuff like that on ebay but I haven't seen them for the Hawkeye, only Sportsman.
I took my sway bar off and greased the fittings really well and the rear end is tolerable now. Still would like to get some softer springs for at some point.
