Default 2001 Rancher ES starting problem

I have a 2001 Rancher ES that will no longer start using the electric start. Intitially I developed an intermittent problem where occasionally it would only click when pressing the starter but if I pull started it, the next time the electric start would work. Now it appears the electric start will no longer work at all. It only clicks. I can still pull start it no problem, battery is fully charged. Any ideas?

Use a test light to verify you are getting power to starter post. If you are, remove the starter and disassemble it. Check the brushes and armature for wear. There's a good chance new brushes will return your starter to working condition.
