04 400 auto dies when you get it in water
#1
We have a 04 400 that over the weekend it just started dying when you got it in water that went over the floorboards. After you let it sit about 15 min or so and prime the carb about 5 times hold the throttle wide open it will finally start. Any ideas???

Check your carb vent lines, and put some Sea Foam in your gas tank. YOu might have water in there. When you hit the water was there a lot of steam that came up?

Have you ever adjusted your carb? Sounds like soemthign might be messed up in there.

I know on my 06 400 auto the carb vent lines were on the skid plate. Had the same problem; it would die in the water. Ran them up along the hndlebars and never had that problem again.

Don't drive it in the water over the floorboards?
Can't believe I was the first to say it.

Thanks for the help. We moved the vent tube up by the handlebars and then tested it after we had it up the the tank in water. It did not always act up then after moving we could go in any depth of water and it was fine. Thanks again for the help.
