Just got new 07 sportsman 500...Salesman said it had EBS but doesn't. Should have checked further... about 500.00 to get it installed now. Is it worth it or can one live without it?

Welcome to the forums
If you have an 07 500 EFI it should have EBS. If you bought the deluxe model it would have come with ADC as well. Maybe thats what you mean I'm not sure. Look on the clutch cover and see if it says EBS on it. It should. EBS is engine braking only on the rear wheels. ADC is engine braking on all 4 wheels when the bike is in 4x4, in gear, throttle closed and under 15 mph. Hope this helps

actually the 500 standard in 07 doesnt have ebs on the standard model. you can get it as a accessory. i think these damn dealers that tell you that they have something on the bike your buying should be held to thier work no matter what it cost them.

Yes, it came out ok... I saw it as well.... after I got home and about 5 hours on the machine. ( guess I misread it)Dealer wasn't much help as of yet. I still plan to address with them. Whats the thought ? Best with it or do-able without it? A rookie mistake I don't intend to make again!

Ahh yes, I was lookin at the G/Fs fathers bike that he just got, it's a 500 EFI but an 06 not an 07 so he has EBS.
