CVT intake
#1
Has anyone come up with a good way to keep water and mud out of the CVT intake snorkle? I was thinking about trying to put a piece of Outerwears prefilter material over the opening. Would this restrict the airflow too much and cause the clutch temps to heat up too much. I don't have any experience with this material. Thanks.

i had a problem with mine. every time i would go through water or mud (not deep at all) at a decent speed my cvt would fill up with water. so i went to home depot and made a new snorkel out of pvc for the exhaust, and for the intake i used a shop vac hose plumed up by the handle bars. it worked like a charm, i can plow threw the stuff as fast as i want without a slip. for some reason i haven't been able to figure out how to post pics on this website but if you pm me with your email address i will send you some pics. it was real simple, and cost about 10 bucks.

i did a make shift snorkel for the cvt exhaust... i thought i was the only one who liked mudding on a scrambler. 67cam how did you mount the hose you bought to the intake? from the top of the stock one, or right from the clutch case?

i went right off of the stock snorkel up along side the gas tank, and up under the handle bars. i shaped the the vac hose into an oval so it would fit under the plastics. i was a little concerned with the cvt overheating with the snorkel extended like this, i kept a close i on it all last season, and pulled the cover this fall to check the belt tension and it didn't over heat one bit.
