Default Foreman Wheel bearings

OK!

First time owner of 2005 Honda Foreman (purchased late 06 - approx 1yr and change of use on it). Took in for second tune up (as required by hours on the machine) where I was told the front wheelbearings needed to be replaced. Ride history: trails/mud - some gravel. First tune up paperwork the left tie-rod was replaced for "defect". Left front tire continued to wear until below safety specs - other tires have little wear at all.

I am suprised at what seems to be a short-life failure of the bearings. Is this common with the foreman? Did I get the proverbial Mon/Fri lemon? Or is this what we called on the aircraft "operator error"?

Swing away! Gotta start somewhere, constructive input/thoughts welcome!

if you buy the sealed bearings, they last alot longer, in mud/water!

Copy Last!

Stock tires/rims - standard issue bearings with the unit at sale. Strange they didn't mention the sealed bearings today when I "authorized" the replacement. Swapped the tires out a few weeks back with ITP MudLites and after todays exchange with the dealership starting to think maybe (since the warrenty isn't worth dingle unless something fails of a factory defect directly {collatoral damage not considered}) of taking the 4W'r to a different shop.

All things said its a good machine. First thing I've ridden of the ATV nature, all previous experience was motorcycles prior to going active duty AF. Retirement after 26yrs has been dull aside from trail riding - guess its hard to break the habit of flying (enlisted aircrew) low level to an airdrop!

Thanks for the input!
