is 2000lb winch enough for a honda rancher?

 

I had one on my kodiak 400 and it always seemed to be over worked , ied get the 2500lb just to be safe

 

I have the 2500, and im getting the 3000. I thought the 2500 would be plenty, but it bogs quite a bit if im really stuck, plus i have a very heavy machine. You would be fine with a 2500

 

Its better to have more than not enough. I have a 2500 for my Rinny and it does pretty well but there have been times when I wish I had a 3000 or even a 3500.

 

Yeah when I get another 4x4 I will get the 3000lb Ramsey winch , I like them the best

 

My 2500 seems to be fine for the situations I have gotten into, and I have a ****** block so I could double the line if I needed.

Next time, though, I'll get a 3000, mainly because they are better sealed. Actually the XT30 with synthetic rope and wireless remote would be my choice (though they aren't cheap).

 

I have an Arctic Cat 500 which is over 700lbs with a full tank of gas. The 2500 Warn is fine, and like the earlier post said, a ****** block will nearly double your pull capacity. I have pulled some seriously heavy stuff with the 2.5. Again, get the best you can afford and if you are paranoid get a 3000lb. General rule of thumb is the winch should be rated at 3 to 3 1/2 times the weight of the machine and you should be fine.
