Default HOLY EFF, a $220 for just sprockets???

So I called Sidewinder to get a price on their Ti-moly 520 sprockets for the DS and the rear is $149, the front is $69... !@#$#$, I don't think I can justify that and with as many hours as I put on my quad I don't think I should consider aluminum, especially at $70 a pop.

Does anyone make a steel rear 520 sprocket?

Not that I know of. You could take a 530 sprocket and take it to a machine shop and have them mill the sprocket down for a 520 chain. You can pick up a steel front sprocket from woods for around $30 shipped. Just a thought.

Yeah I hear ya. I have already put 2 aluminium sprockets on mine, but that was from not having the right rear shock either. To much travel for a 6 over swing arm. I have seen some aluminium sprockets last 3-4 seasons before they need changed.

Just pull the trigger on the Ti-Moly... at least the rear. It will pay for itself as opposed to aluminum. I think Sidwinder will custom cut a steel rear... also Sprocket specialists can make you a steel 520. I bet they are a pretty penny though. You would probably be pushing close to the cost of the Ti-Moly. I have a season on mine and they still look brand new (and I'm a big boy).

The only way I justified it was I bought the whole set up for Seth. If you buy the whole set up it has a lifetime Guarantee. If I don't have to buy another sprocket then that saves me money in the long run. That is the only way I could justify spending that kind of money. JMO

All I will say is I just did the Sidewinder complete conversion to my 05 DS and it rocks. More power, better throttle response and as one person said. If any of the components wears out or breaks it has a lifetime warrenty
