03 preadotor wont start has power
#1
i have a 2003 predator i went to go ride last week and it wouldn't start. the battery has power, but the neutral light, headlights, or start button wont work. i replaced the solenoid six months ago and was just riding it no problem like two weeks ago. i cleaned all of the connections at the battery and solenoid and checked the kill switch for operation. it's good. i cleaned all of the connectors along the wiring harness. still no power at the handlebars. think the solenoid went bad already? i just bought it when i put the first solenoid in 6 months ago. thanks can't wait to get back on that beast.

If the batt has power.......enough to crank, then it is prob one of the two relay/fuse's on the pred. Its more of a circuit breaker, than a fuse. Look under the left side(when sitting on it)......black pannel, near the seat. There is a black taped up bad thing.....see if there is power on both sides of it.

awesome man you rock. i was just rippin it. you were right there was a break in the power wire that was covered by heat shrink. i cut it off and there was the problem, the dealer before put a cheeeezy connector on and it corroded and broke. i soldered it together and now its nice. i have had a problem with a miss fire that i still can't figure out. i changed the plug and put a new air cleaner in, and tried using some spray carb cleaner. it misses when i give it gas real hard, more aggressive riding also at lower rpms like 1500 to 4000 (too much gas? maybe running a little rich?), but not when i ease onto the gas and sort of putt through the gears. started to happen bout three months ago out on the trail doing hill climbs. man did that start to mess me up

Glad you figured it out......My guess on the sputtering is, the jetting. You'll have to mess around with it a bit.....possibly even the needle.....could also be a clogged jet too.....
