Default Batteries

I have an '05 Rincon and an '05 Rancher. Both batteries have drained over the winter, no lights or digital odometer readout. After I put them on the trickle charger for over 8 hours, I got lights and digital readout, but it would not attempt to turn the starter. No clicking, as if no power. I have lost the operators manual, is there a reset switch once the connection is broken, or should I go ahead and buy new batteries?
