I have a 2000 polaris scrambler 4x2 and the cylinder is cracked. I was looking to purchase a engine off ebay but all I can find is teh engine for the 4x4 model. I was wondering would that motor work with my 2x4 model???

If the cylinder is cracked at the tab where it bolts down to the crankcase then it it repairable. Rick Ritter at Ritter Cycle Racing can repair for you and be probably stronger. If the whole motor is trashed then you could probably buy a motor on ebay for a reasonable price.

 

Pretty much all the 400l motors are the same even the one in the Expolers. Just needs to be the 400l 2 stroke

 

yeah the top end is the only part thats bad on the engine. I wanna get the whole thing rebuilt but if I can find a decent engine for a resonable price I will just get that one rebuilt and use the old engine for parts later on down the road.

 

Just for clarification, are you talking 2 stroke or 4 stroke?
