BRP has let us Renegade owners down with the accessories crap that they came out with. After hearing the bad word about a winch not being out for a few months, im thinkin along the line of fabricating a winch for the front of my Renegade. Before i do that i have to do a little research as to how to get this done.

Anyone have any pointers? Suggestions would be nice... thx

 

I'm pretty sure the Renegade frame is about the same as the Outy's. Might help to look at how the XT winch is mounted. Might even be able to modify the Outy XT bracket?

 

The renegade frame is the same up front (there are other differences) and the base plate where you would mount the winch plate would be nearly identical as the Outlander base plate, but there is not room for any size winch in the space provided and the entire from bumper is aluminum so mounting a roller hawse or even a drag plate is risky as a winch is really going to tear the hell out of it! There are support brackets that run right threw the middle of the bumper that tie the plastic body support into the bumper. In order to get a small winch in there that has to be re-routed somehow around the winch to keep the body mount which appears to be needed. Its that or fashion a new bumper.

Its my bet that there will be a new bumper coming out for anyone that wants to install a winch on a Renegade.

my buddy fabed in a 1500# warn into his gade but he did have to cut some plastic and re-engineer some supports,

 

Im putting on a warn2500. I have to cut the support as well in order to fit the winch. Hopefully be done the winch by Friday [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
